Justice League: Thor Ragnarok’s Taiki Waititi makes hilarious dig at rival

The latest Thor movie is, of course, property of Marvel – rivals to DC, who made the new ensemble blockbuster.

The former has been reigning cinemas over recent weeks, and already boasts an enormous box office haul.

So as Justice League is finally released – and expected to land at No1 over the weekend – Waititi retweeted a reminder from Marvel that his own creation is the reigning champ.

He captioned it: “Not sure what else is on at the movies this weekend…..”

As fans naturally assumed that to be a jibe against Justice League, he followed-up with: “Relax, fools, I’m excited to see it just like everyone else.”

Thor Ragnarok has had an infinitely better ride from critics than Justice League, although reactions from public audiences are yet to be fully realised.

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the third Thor caper has a score of 92%, while Justice League has a lowly 39%.

That’s despite the best efforts of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Ezra Miller’s The Flash, both of whom have been well received.

The film also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Thor Ragnarok, meanwhile, boasts Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum among others.

Justice League is out now.
