Chelsea news: Blues considering transfer deal after Alvaro Morata makes suggestion

Chelsea could be set to invest in a new keeper at the end of the season with Thibaut Courtois’ future shrouded in uncertainty.

The Belgium international is a key part of Antonio Conte’s squad, having helped the Blues win the Premier League this year and back in 2015.

However, Real Madrid are circling with the La Liga champions set to show current No1 Keylor Navas the door come the end of the season.

And Spanish website Don Balon say Morata wants Chelsea to make Arrizabalaga their new shotstopper.

Arrizabalaga has been touted as a potential target for Madrid themselves.

Los Blancos have long dreamed of signing Manchester United’s David De Gea but Arrizabalaga, at 23, would represent a younger and cheaper alternative.

Arsenal have also been tipped to make the goalkeeper their new No1 with Petr Cech showing signs of waning this season.

But Don Balon say Morata has called on Chelsea chiefs to make a move for Arrizabalaga instead.

And they are supposedly ready to dance to his tune.

Chelsea are reportedly hopeful of signing Arrizabalaga despite the strong competition to secure his signature.

Their cause may be helped by the fact the 23-year-old is worried about what a move to Real would do for his reputation with Bilbao fans.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this week, Arrizabalaga insisted he was not paying attention to rumours linking him with a move away.

“I’ve just made my debut, I am happy, enjoying this moment,” Kepa said after starting for Spain.

“I am a player of Athletic and the national team, and there’s little else I can say.

“The truth is the [rumours] do not make me nervous. You hear them, you see them, I am not blind and know what is going on around me.

“But I know I am who I am for what I do, not for what people say. I try to keep a calm head.”
