Overwatch news: Microsoft teams with Blizzard for HUGE Xbox One X boost

fans have been treated to more good news ahead of the Moira release date.

Blizzard has just announced plans to release a brand new Xbox One X update for Microsoft’s new console.

“Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens,” reads a Microsoft post.

“The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X.

“It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen. We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.”

In the meantime, Overwatch fans are looking forward to checking out new hero Moira, whose  is coming up fast.

A recent advert for this weekend’s free trial suggests that Moira will be released in full later this week.

“For this free weekend, we’re making Overwatch’s full roster of 26 heroes and 16 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade,” Blizzard confirms.

Seeing as how Moira is the 26th character, Blizzard is expected to release the hero later this week.

New character releases and events typically launch on Tuesdays, which means Moira could release as early as 6pm on November 14.

Alternatively, the Moira update could launch just before the free weekend, perhaps on November 16.

The Overwatch free weekend runs from November 17 until November 21 (in the UK). It starts at 7pm UK time on Friday and ends at 7.59am UK time on the morning of November 21.

Moira is a versatile support character than can heal and deal damage in equal measure.

“While Biotic Grasp gives Moira short-range options, her Biotic Orbs contribute longer-range, hands-off damage and healing; she can also Fade to escape groups or remain close to allies in need of support.

“Once she’s charged Coalescence, Moira can save multiple allies from elimination at once or finish off weakened enemies.”

Moira’s Coalescence Ultimate is interesting in that the beam heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage enemies.
