Call of Duty WW2 PS4 and Xbox One Update puts brakes on latest launch

For anyone who has been playing the Call of Duty WW2 PS4 and Xbox One multiplayer modes, you would have spotted some issues.

Not only have players been finding it hard to connect to games and stick in them but they have also had problems finding compatible lobbies on Nazi Zombies.

There’s also been issues with the game’s XP system, after it was revealed that Sledgehammer Games have accidentally had double XP available since the start.

This has now ended, meaning that fans are going to see a much harder push toward Prestige and leveling up.

And it’s now been revealed that Activision and Sledgehammer are putting the brakes on another feature.

The official Activision Support site has now confirmed that microtransactions will not be rolled out this week as planned.

Instead, they will be launched next week, with no details on what might be causing the holdup.

“As an update to an earlier announcement, the COD Points live date has been shifted to November 21,” Activision Support explains.

“As a digital edition owner, your bonus of 1,100 CP will be awarded at that time. Thank you for your patience.”

Some of the problems with servers and connections have been put down to the sheer amount of players trying to logon.

“Thanks everyone for your continued support. It’s been a whirlwind since launch,” a message from the development team explains.

“We’re seeing millions of fans play every day.  However, we also know we’ve had issues, there’s frustration.  We recognize that and we hear you.

“Our highest priority is to deliver the best online experience possible. We’re not there yet, and we won’t rest until we are.”

“Game Disconnects From Server – After much testing, our engineering teams identified the root cause of this issue, which can also result in lost stats and post match lobby freezes.

“We plan to deploy a patch across both consoles worldwide. We’ll monitor the results, and keep everyone updated.”

And the next wave of Call of Duty WW2 updates will attempt to fix online connectivity.

Call of Duty WW2 fans have struggled to connect to COD WW2 servers during the game’s first week on sale.

Sledgehammer wants to return to dedicated servers as soon as possible, and is hoping to fix the Headquarters social space.

But the priority is online connectivity issues, starting with another new patch on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
