Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi: Emperor’s role in Luke finding Ahch-To’s Jedi Temple REVEALED

WARNING SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2 AHEAD.

A three decade gap between the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Episode VII: The Force Awakens is a big one and there’s lots we don’t know about.

The first film in the sequel trilogy found Luke Skywalker in exile on Ahch-To, but how did he get there and how did he know the first Jedi temple was there?

Now with the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2 this week, a video game with a canonically recognised storyline that ties into the movies, that question has been answered.

According to Total Film, the main campaign sees Inferno Squad member Del Meeko land on Pillio with a mission of destroying all that is found in the Emperor’s vault.

Coming into contact with Luke Skywalker himself, the Jedi has been guided by the Force to the vault, where he finds a compass with a star map.

This is apparently very similar to the one seen in the first trailer for Star Wars The Last Jedi.

Presumably this is what sets Luke off on his journey to Ahch-To, but even more interesting is the fact that the Emperor himself knew all about it.

Perhaps Luke will find when he arrives at the Jedi Temple?

After all, maybe this would explain why Luke is looking all Dark Sidey in all the trailers and posters?

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
