Justice League: BAD NEWS for Superman fans and Man of Steel 2 – Did our hopes just die?

He is the heart of the Justice League. Apparently the kid from Krypton is also the source of hope in the DCEU – so whey does it feel like they keep killing that hope?

Fans still don’t even know if or how he will actually be in the Justice League movie, which hits cinemas later this week.

Now there is even more worrying news about the plans for a Superman standalone sequel.

Has DC and Warner Bros given up on the Caped Crusader?

Many fans have never been happy with the extremely dark and gloomy tone of Zack Snyder’s DC movies, especilaly regarding his treatment of Superman, who is traditionally one of the most upbeat and postive heroes across all the comicbook franchises.

The recent emphasis is promo materials and interviews on how the upcoming movies would start to reflect a much lighter tone, lead fans to hope that Henry Cavill and Superman would finally come into their own.

They may have a very long wait…

Charles Roven, the veteran producer of “The Dark Knight” trilogy, has cast doubt on a standalone Superman sequel coming to the big screen in the next few years.

While the release slate stacks up with solo outings for Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash, the Wonder Woman sequel plus the ever-elusive Batman movie, plans for Superman remain vague at best.

According to The New York Times: “The Superman sequel Man of Steel 2 also isn’t coming anytime soon, if at all. Roven says there’s no script but ‘various story ideas’ are being kicked around.

One ray of hope is the report that Matthew Vaughan is circling teh project.

The British Kingsman and Kick Ass director has expressed an interest in picking up the Superman story for Warner Bros.

Could he be the man to finally help Superman “kick ass” as he truly deserves in cinemas?
