Justice League: Ben Affleck reveals ‘sexual tension’ between Wonder Woman and Batman

The actor, who plays Batman in the all-star blockbuster, has caused surprise by saying he and Wonder Woman will have “sexual tension”.

He told Entertainment Weekly that the movie allows him to “play the dynamics, the sexual tension with Wonder Woman, the regular old tension with Flash”.

He added jokily of Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman: “You can’t be around Jason Momoa and not have sexual tension.”

So how much will a romantic arc between Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Batman be pursued?

Considering how many thought the romance between her and Steve (Chris Pine) in her own movie earlier this year was relatively weak, would it be better to allow her to stand on her own two feet without a racy subplot?

Or was Affleck simply making a throwaway comment on something that won’t even be explored much? We’ll have to wait a tiny bit longer to find out.

Justice League’s official reviews won’t be out until later this week, but the early buzz on social media has been mostly positive.

Those who have seen initial screenings have declared that the film is “fun” but far from perfect.

One person tweeted: “Here it goes … #JusticeLeague is super thin and has some very weak CG but it’s got heart and a positive vibe that works.

“Overall, I had a pretty good time and am looking forward to seeing more of these characters.”

Another declared: “#JusticeLeague is a fun, bumpy ride that succeeds in character, but fails in narrative.”

Justice League is out on Friday, November 17.
