Pokemon Go news that will make every Raid fan happy following Harry Potter update

Pokemon Go news this week has revealed that Trainers will be getting a big boost when it comes to new Gyms and PokeStops being added to the game.

Gamestop have now confirmed that more of their stores are set to become Gyms and PokeStops.

“As you probably already know, Pokemon Go has officially taken over the world. Pokemon GO is now bigger than Twitter,” a message from the Gamestop website reads.

“But did you know that 350 GameStop locations are either a PokeStop (place to collect items and Poke Balls) or a Pokemon Gym (place to train your Pokemon)?

“And we even have 50 GameStop locations dropping Poke Lures in the very near future.

“Get out there and hatch some Pokemon Eggs. Check out our GameStop Store Locator above to find a Poke Stop, Poke Gym or Poke Lure near you.”

For those players who like to run Pokemon Go Raids a lot, a boost in the number of Gyms and locations offering Pokeballs, Potions, Lure Modules and revives will be welcomed.

It’s unclear just how far this new rollout will go, but fans in other countries will also be hoping for some new locations as well.

Niantic recently refreshed its roster of Raid bosses for the first time.

Tier one Raids now include Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle and Metapod, while Tier two bosses include the likes of Magneton, Cloyster, Tentacruel and Sandslash.0

Sableye and Marowak also join the roster of Raids, despite featuring heavily in the recent Halloween 2017 event.

Porygon, Snorlax, Golem and Lapras make appearances as higher tier bosses, as well as Ninetales, Scyther and Poliwrath.

Raid times have also been given an update, as Niantic reduces the duration from an hour to 45 minutes.

It’s also been revealed that Niantic will be working on a new game from another major global franchise.

Dubbed Harry Potter Go, the new title will include Augmented Reality features like Pokemon Go.

The game will be officially called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite but won’t be released until next year.

It is being co-developed by Warner Bros Interactive and Portkey Games, a new label setup to handle titles for both mobile and consoles.

However, details on the forthcoming app, which can be expected to be released on iOS and Android devices, is scarce.

David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, commented on the recent announcements, telling fans: “With Portkey Games, we are thrilled to answer the fans’ requests for more games inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.

“We are working with talented creators to build games that focus on player-generated stories, which will live alongside the magical universe created by J.K. Rowling.”
