The trailer, released on Monday evening this week, indicates that bosses have no reason to fear the threequel’s popularity.
Fifty Shades Darker may have posted a smaller box office return than Fifty Shades of Grey, but it seems Freed will still draw the punters.
The evidence? The trailer has already been viewed an almighty 17 million times.
A huge 2.5 million were reportedly registered in the first six hours alone, while 10 million had been twigged by the time it had been up for a full day.
The trailer also bagged the No1 spot on YouTube’s Trending list.

Fifty Shades Freed sees Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan returning as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey for the final time; wrapping up one of the most attention-grabbing franchises in recent years.
Johnson revealed in a recent interview that she has felt constantly “judged” since first taking up the role.
“It’s like an incessant mosquito noise,” she told Vogue. “Very weird.
“People feeling the need not only to judge everyone all the time but also to pronounce themselves on it, it’s extremely boring.”
She called it all “a waste of energy and time.”
In the same interview, Johnson had also opened up on her future career goals – including work behind the camera.
“I read a lot, and I have found many articles and books that I’d like to turn into films,” she explained.
“My interests are very specific, and I want to see certain women acting on screen and drawing attention to some particular issues.”
Fifty Shades Freed is out on February 9, 2018.
