The explosion occurred at Bristol High School in the city, located in the south of France, at around 3pm local time (2pm GMT).
Police found plastic bottles and reported acidic smells on the second floor of the building. They said it was the result of a home-made bomb.
One student said: “We were in class and we heard a detonation, we panicked a bit and immediately after that there was a second detonation.
“The teacher immediately locked the door and locked it with a chair. The fire alarm was sounded and we were evacuated.”
No injuries have been reported.
