North Korea sparked fears of World War 3 after ignoring international condemnation and continuing with its drive to create an arsenal of deadly nuclear weapons.
US President Donald Trump is using his tour of Asia to warn despot leader Kim Jong-un against pushing on with his weapons program.
In a display of military might, a US fighter pilot flew NBC’s chief foreign correspondent along the North Korea border with South Korea.
Describing it as a “major show of force” to North Korea amid the international tension, the pilot flew around seven miles from the border.
They practised combat manoeuvres as US armed forces in the region remain on high alert and ready for the possible outbreak of World War 3.
Pyongyang has described recent exercises by US bombers as “surprise” strikes on the North, as the hermit nation offers a fiery response to the drills.
North Korea has accused Mr Trump and the US of once again heightening tensions in the region after the US President delivered a speech in South Korea.
North Korean officials said: “The United States is threatening us with nuclear aircraft carriers and strategic bombers.
“They are challenging us with the most vicious and demeaning provocations but we will counter those threats by bolstering the power of justice in order to take out the root cause of aggression and war.”
Mr Trump had warned North Korea it will face disaster unless its despot leader abandons his nuclear ambitions.
The US President said: “The weapons that you are acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger.
“Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face.”
Mr Trump spent two days in South Korea as part of his 12-day tour of Asia, telling Seoul’s national assembly he is ready to find a diplomatic solution to the North Korea crisis.
