Pokemon Go news: New Niantic update revealed following latest event launch

It appears that the development team behind the hit AR mobile game are ready to expand how many Shiny Pocket Monsters are currently available.

The past few weeks has seen the gradual release of new variants, all of which were part of the Halloween event.

And it appears that Niantic maybe ready to add more Pokemon to the list, if this latest Pokemon Go news is to be believed.

According to dataminers, more Gen 1 Shiny Pokemon could be on the way.

Three new shiny models for Gastly, Haunter and Gengar have been found, as well as new 3D models for Ho-Oh and Celebi.

While these new finds are clear indications of what Niantic have planned for a future update, there’s no guarantee when it might launch.

The Pokemon Go Hub reports that 2D spirites are usually the last things added before new Shiny Pocket Monsters are released into the game.

These have not yet appeared for these Ghost-types, suggesting that fans could be waiting at least a few weeks before they see a launch.

It seems more likely that we’ll see the release of Ho-oh soon, what with the latest batch of Legendary Pokemon set to be rested soon.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will appear in Legendary Pokemon Raids until the end of November, and look set to be rotated out after that.

That would make the way clear for new Legendary Pokemon to be released, unless Niantic plan to focus exclusively on Gen 3 Pocket Monsters in December.

It follows news that Pokemon Go developer Niantic has announced a selection of brand new events for November.

After the success of Pokemon Go Safari festivals in Europe, Niantic has confirmed plans to host more events this month.

But it’s bad news for UK players, because the only events to be announced are for South Korea and Japan.

“Over the past few months, we’ve hosted seven different Pokemon GO Safari Zone events at Unibail-Rodamco shopping centres located throughout Europe,” reads a Niantic post.

“In total, over 20,000 Trainers from all around the world came together at these shopping centres to celebrate their love for Pokemon GO and develop new friendships.

“It was incredible to witness so many Trainers work together to catch over six million Pokemon at these shopping centres.”
