Nintendo Switch games SHOCK as new title smashes rivals

The Nintendo Switch games list has had a massive boost that could have far-reaching consequences.

The holiday season will see the launch of several third-party titles, including DOOM, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Rocket League.

But while these games will help provide more variety, none are likely to do so well as Super Mario Odyssey.

The Nintendo Switch exclusive has been going from strength-to-strength, having already reached two million sales.

Now it’s been revealed that the majority of those retail units were sold in the United States.

1.1 million units have apparently been sold in the US, making Super Mario Odyssey the fastest selling Mario game ever in that region.

It would also make it one of the fastest selling Switch games since the console was launched back in March.

And it’s not the only region that has seen top sales, with Europe also pulling in impressive numbers.

“Super Mario Odyssey has become the fastest-selling Super Mario game ever across Europe, surpassing the launch weekend sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2,” Nintenndo revealed.

“Mario’s latest adventure has also become the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game in Europe, and globally, more than two million copies of the game were sold worldwide in its first three days on sale.

“Super Mario Odyssey has also received positive review scores: on Metacritic.com, which aggregates scores from certain reviewers, for example, the game currently has a critical review average of 97, with 43 perfect scores.

“Super Mario Odyssey is the latest title for Nintendo Switch, the new home console from Nintendo that can be played anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

“The console launched on 3rd March this year, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was not only bestowed with some of the highest review scores in gaming history, but also became the biggest-selling Nintendo launch title ever in Europe, even outselling Wii Sports in first weekend sales.”

Nintendo Switch owners are also set for another big release, with LA Noire heading to the hybrid console this month.

Rockstar Games’ classic crime thriller is getting revived for the Switch, and has a release date of November 14 2017.

But the digital download size for LA Noire – which has been revealed today – exposes one fatal flaw with the Nintendo Switch.

If you download LA Noire from the eShop, you will need 29GB free on your Switch.

However, there’s just one small problem – there’s not enough space on the Switch’s internal storage to download it.

Nintendo’s hybrid console comes with 32GB of base storage – however approximately 6.2GB of that is used by the system itself.

So, anyone hoping to install LA Noire on their Nintendo Switch will need to buy a microSD card.

Even if you decide to get the physical version of LA Noire, you will still need a 14GB digital download before you can play the cartridge.
