Netflix REFUSE to air House of Cards if Kevin Spacey returns amid harrasment scandal

The streaming service confirmed it will not be involved in any production of “House of Cards” if the actor continues to appear in the show.

Netflix suspended production of the upcoming series of the show, which was due to be its last, following the allegations.

In a statement, a spokesman said: ”Netflix will not be involved with any further production of ‘House of Cards’ that includes Kevin Spacey.

“We will continue to work with production company Media Rights Capital during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show.”

Netflix also said on Friday it would not release the film “Gore,” which was due to be released soon and was produced by Mr Spacey.

The film was about the late writer Gore Vidal, with the 58-year-old playing him.

Mr Spacey apologised last weekend to actor Anthony Rapp, who had accused him of trying to seduce him in 1986 when Rapp was 14.

And on Thursday it was revealed eight current and former employees of House of Cards, who were not identified, have reportedly alleged sexual misconduct against Mr Spacey.

The Oscar winner is reportedly being investigated by the Metropolitan Police over the alleged sexual assault of a man in Lambeth in 2008.

Officers from the Met’s child abuse and sexual offences command are said to be looking into the claims against the House of Cards actor.

The Met said in a statement: “On Wednesday, 1 November, City of London Police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan Police Service.

“It is alleged a man assaulted another man in 2008 in Lambeth.

“Officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are investigating.”

The City of London Police confirmed that they have referred an allegation of sexual assault from 2008 in Lambeth to Scotland Yard.

Mr Spacey is best known for his portrayal of the villainous fictional president Frank Underwood in Netflix hit House of Cards.

His career as an actor, director and producer has spanned nearly four decades.

Some of his biggest films include The Usual Suspects, Se7en and American Beauty for which he won an Academy Award.

However, his turn as Roger “Verbal” Kint in The Usual Suspects proved to be a key role and led to critical acclaim and a slew of accolades.

He has also had success on stage and won a prestigious Tony Award for his turn in Broadway play Lost In Yonkers.
