Xbox One Backwards Compatibility update: Microsoft adds THIS cult hit to games list

Backwards Compatibility just added a cult classic to the games list.

Deadly Premonition is now available to play on the Xbox One – and just in time for the release of the Xbox One X.

Fans with an original copy can enter the disc to install the game, or download it from the Games and Apps section of the Xbox One dashboard.

Alternatively, fans can buy the game from the Xbox Store, where it currently costs £14.99.

“Special Agent York must solve the mystery of the Red Seed Murders before his investigation is ended… permanently,” reads the official description.

Deadly Premonition may have only received 3,153 Backwards Compatibility votes, but it does have a big cult following on PS3 and Xbox 360.

It was directed by Hidetaka Suehiro (aka Swery65), whose recent credits include D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die.

In terms of fans votes, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 leads the way with 188k, followed by Skyrim with 179k and Modern Warfare 3 with 136k.

The news comes as Microsoft makes on Xbox One.

All of the original Xbox games have been enhanced to play at a resolution of 1080p. Fans can also expect smoother frame rates and faster loading times.

The only drawback is that online multiplayer will no longer work, as many of the game servers have been closed down.

On the plus side, system link multiplayer is available across different Xbox systems.
