Fortnite Battle Royale UPDATE – Halloween end date latest, and it’s GOOD news for fans

Fortnite and Battle Royale players have been taking part in Fortnitemares – the Halloween event for Epic Games hit shooter – for more than a week.

The Fortnite update will bring with it seasonal rewards, cosmetics and the new Hexsylvania zone.

It’s the first time the tower defence shooter and free-to-play Battle Royale mode has had a seasonal event.

So far Epic Games have not revealed an end date or finish time for the Fortnite Halloween event.

However, the North Carolina-based developer have just given an update on when Fortnitemares will be ending – and it’s good news for fans.

In a post on the Fortnite Reddit page, Epic Games responded to a fan who was asking about what the Fortnite Halloween event end date is.

The Fortnite makers said they currently do not have an end date for the Halloween event.

The post, published yesterday, said Epic will give a warning to fans when the do know the Fortnite Halloween event will be ending.

So, it looks like Fortnite fans will be able to jump on the Battle Bus and take part in the Halloween event for the foreseeable future.

In the Reddit post, Epic Games said: “Hi, we currently do not know when the Halloween Event will end. Epic has already stated that they will give a warning as the event draws nearer to its close.

“As such, posts asking for the end date of the Halloween Event will all be met with the same type of answer: we do not know.

“Once Epic makes an announcement, we will sticky it on this sub as we usually do.

“Posts created asking about when the event ends will be removed from this point on.”

In comparison, the Overwatch and Pokemon Go Halloween events have all finished up for this year.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event, which brought with it a selection of Gen 3 creatures and a Pikachu witch hat, finished up yesterday.

While the Overwatch Halloween event, which featured spooky skins and Junkenstein’s Revenge, ended on Wednesday.

The Fortnite Halloween event boost came after a new patch was released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC hit.

Fortnite update 1.8.1 was rolled out on Thursday, with the new patch deployed to fix things in both Battle Royale and Save The World modes.

The patch was released following a major server outage that affected Fortnite fans over the weekend.

Epic Games have since apologised for this, telling fans: “We’re sorry for the trouble this weekend.

“The Battle Bus had 811K concurrent players on Sunday. We’re working hard to keep it in the air.”

Here are two standout changes Epic Games wants you to know about that come with Fortnite update 1.8.1:

Voice Chat Improvements: “Take control over your communication with the option to mute individual players, located in the “Audio” tab of the settings screen.”

Quest Drops: “There are times when you may feel like you are the unluckiest player in Fortnite as you just can’t get that last quest item. Well, it’s your lucky day … we’ve increased quest item drop rates.”

The Fortnite also fixes several localisation issues and adds the option to uncap framerate on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
