The US President relentlessly uses the social media platform to speak to his supporters and attack his enemies.
But firebrand Republican was temporarily left without his mouthpiece “due to human error” the social media outlet revealed.
Twitter said: “Earlier today @realdonaldtrump’s account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee.”
Later they added: “Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review.”
“The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored.”

The outage caused a frenzy on Twitter with some users suggesting an over exuberant member of White House staff had wrestled the President’s phone from him to prevent another contentious Tweet.
In a statement Twitter said: “We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.”
The statement drew praise for the mysterious Twitter Inc employee who committed the act of “human error”.
While some called for the account to be taken down again others defended the Presidents right to free speech.
Trump’s use of the social media platform has drawn controversy with some, including the President, arguing it allows him to get his message though without the media and was vital in winning him the 2016 election.
While many others have criticised his use of Twitter for personal attacks and inflammatory messages, as well as publishing policy plans without going through any official channels.
The Commander in Chief seemed unfazed after the shut down and continued to Tweet as usual.
Since coming back online he has posted about tax reform, accused “Crooked Hillary” Clinton of rigging primaries and promoted his upcoming interview on Fox News.
