Nintendo Switch UPDATE – LA Noire exposes fatal flaw in hit hybrid console

owners are all set for another big release, with LA Noire heading to the hybrid console this month.

Rockstar Games’ classic crime thriller is getting revived for the Switch, and has a release date of November 14 2017.

But the digital download size for LA Noire – which has been revealed today – exposes one fatal flaw with the Nintendo Switch.

If you download LA Noire from the eShop, you will need 29GB free on your Switch.

However, there’s just one small problem – there’s not enough space on the Switch’s internal storage to download it.

Nintendo’s hybrid console comes with 32GB of base storage – however approximately 6.2GB of that is used by the system itself.

So, anyone hoping to install LA Noire on their Nintendo Switch will need to buy a microSD card.

Even if you decide to get the physical version of LA Noire, you will still need a 14GB digital download before you can play the cartridge.

Rockstar said: “If using the physical cartridge version of LA Noire, the game will require a 14GB digital download containing required gameplay data as well as general bug fixes and improvements.

“This file can be downloaded to either the Nintendo Switch console’s internal storage or a microSD card (sold separately).

“The Nintendo eShop digital version of LA Noire, including all bug fixes and improvements, requires 29GB of available storage.

“Because this exceeds the available internal storage on the console, the eShop version of the game must be installed to a microSD card (sold separately) that is inserted prior beginning the download.”

LA Noire on the Nintendo Switch will make use of the Joy-Cons HD rumble and motion controls.

It will also come with the complete original game as well as additional downloadable content.

There will also be new collectibles and detective suits to unlock, which each come with unique special abilities.

The LA Noire download size is pretty hefty when compared to some of the other major releases on the Switch this year.

The recently released Super Mario Odyssey just takes up 5.7GB of space, while The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild needs 13.4GB of room.

If you’re looking to upgrade your Switch internal memory, the Nintendo website explains what SD cards are supported.

You don’t have to get a Nintendo branded SD card – microSD, microSD HC and microSDXC cards are all supported.

If you’re looking to upgrade your Nintendo Switch storage, you can buy 32GB microSD HC cad made by SanDisk for 32GB.
