Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi: Is THIS a MAJOR connection to the prequel trilogy?

The Last Jedi may be the middle part of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but it’s also connected to the rest of Episodes.

Following the introduction of Anakin Skywalker’s blue lightsaber in The Force Awakens – an object last seen in The Empire Strikes Back – fans have been wondering what other nods will appear in the latest instalment.

Now Screen Rant have spotted a prequel trilogy connection in the latest trailer to do with the Force tree.

It’s been confirmed that this hollow natural structure is the original Jedi temple and it looks very similar to another temple seen in Episodes I-III.

The poster wrote: “They said that they’re going to be brave and there will be big surprises.

“I got the impression that JJ felt like he had to refresh previous Star Wars moments for a modern audience in TFA [The Force Awakens], and now it feels like they have free reign to do what they want.

“I asked about elements of the PT coming into 9 and Chris said about how 9 unites all of it. He said 9 definitely makes it feel like they’re all happening in the same universe, and there would be PT elements in 9.”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
