Donald Trump ‘possibly’ related to crazed killer who inspired werewolf tales in 1500s

The US President could be related to the brutal killer who has been credited with inspiring werewolf horror stories.

In the 1500s farmer Peter Stumpf killed 13 children and two pregnant women an cannibalised the corpses.

The “Werewolf of Bedburg” was executed in 1589 along with his lover Katharina Trump.

Dr Kevin Pittle of Biola University research has revealed a link between Katharina Trump and the US President may exist.

The research team have ancestry records and socio-linguistic factors that point to a |possible” relation between the pair.

Before emigrating to New York Trump’s grandfather was born in the tiny German town of Kallstadt.

One of the US President’s earliest relative in Kallstadt, Hans Trumpf, may be the key to the mystery.

Many of the records from the period were destroyed in the 30 years war but Dr Pittle has uncovered documents showing that a Katharina Trump and Peter Stumpf at the time of the murders.

He told The Sun: “We started looking through these databases to find Trumps and Stumpfs in the same place.

“We have no legal records, family records to support this happening in Cologne.

“What I did stumble across, was people working on Donald Trump’s genealogy – and there were several Katharinas early on.

“Kallstadt is in southwest Germany, where the werewolf panic was centred.”

Although Stumpf is generally thought to have committed his crimes in Bedbug, near Cologne evidence has revealed this may not be the case.

There are no records of anyone named Stumpf or Trump living in the area at the time.

In the local dialect Cologne would be spelt “Colle,” while stadt is the German word for city.

Dr Pittle said: ”So if you were going to say ‘Cologne city’ you would say ‘Colle-stadt’, which is very close phonetically to Kallstadt.

“Kallstadt is a little no name town, whereas everybody knows Cologne.

“What if something happened in Kallstadt but it got heard as Colle-stadt?”

Although there is no definitive evidence for the theory the researchers hope to look into it further.

Dr Pittle said: “We’re investigating – is it possible that the Katharina Trump named in the werewolf narrative – is it the same Katharina Trump that Donald is descended from?

“There’s no way to support it at the moment.

“But is it entertaining to consider? Yes.”
