Man Utd News LIVE updates: Rashford and Martial plan, Pogba return discussed by Mourinho

Ibrahimovic key to Rashford and Martial plan

07:20: Many Manchester United fans have been wondering why Jose Mourinho refuses to play Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial together.

But the Daily Mail say Zlatan Ibrahimovic may actually be the reason why.

It is said Mourinho may field them both when Ibrahimovic returns from his knee injury, in order to compensate for the veteran’s lack of pace.

The former Barcelona hitman is expected to be back before the end of the year, so United supporters can expect to see their two young stars play together more often from then.

Mourinho talks Pogba return

07:00: Jose Mourinho has no idea when Paul Pogba will be back for Manchester United.

“I have no idea [about Paul’s recovery],” the 54-year-old said.

“I am not in control of his recovery process. He’s not training with me.

“He is on individual work and when a player is on individual work and not in my group, not even in certain conditions, [I cannot predict his return].”

Matic says what United must do to win the title

06:40: Nemanja Matic thinks Manchester United need to beat the big boys in order to win a first league title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s time in charge.

“They are very important. I think that the title, you win in the let’s say ‘small games’ but also if you want to be first you have to win games like this, especially when you play at home you cannot drop points,” he said.

“It’s important for us, it’s a lot of pressure on us but we managed to score and to win. They also had one great chance, we also had [Jesse] Lingard on the counter-attack.

“I think the game was equal but maybe we deserve it a little more.”
