Overwatch Halloween end date and Season 7 start news CONFIRMED

The Overwatch Halloween end date has been set to coincide with the start of Blizzcon 2017.

Blizzard have confirmed that there will be new Overwatch news during the big event, which starts on November 3.

The Overwatch Halloween end date, meanwhile, has been set for Wednesday, November 1.

It should be noted by PS4, Xbox One and PC fans in the UK that Blizzard are based in California, meaning it will likely end late for those in European time zones.

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan recently teased that more news would be announced about the game at Blizzcon too.

“We have a ton of cool, fun stuff coming — some of which will be announced at Blizzcon,” he told fans on the forums.

“And we’re also really proud of some of the work we just completed to make spectating esports better.

“World Cup should be pretty cool and will teach us a lot for when it comes to improving spectating in the future.

“We really appreciate all of the passion you’ve shown for the game. We’re lucky to have players like you.”

What that could be is anyone’s guess, but last year saw a new characters revealed, as well as a short film.

There’s the chance that a spin-off Overwatch project could be announced, or something more connected to the Overwatch League.

Fans are also getting ready for the Overwatch Season 7 start date, which has been confirmed by Blizzard.

The new season of Competitive Play will kick off on Tuesday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Thursday, November 1 at 00:00 UTC).

This is three days after the end of Season 6, which finished on Saturday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. PDT (or Sunday, October 29 at 00:00 UTC).

If you completed your placement matches during Season 6, you will eligible to receive a special spray and player icon. These will be unlocked automatically when you log into your account the first time after the season ends.

If you are placed within the Top 500 players on your platform (and in your region) at the end of the season, you’ll receive an extra player icon and animated spray on top of the other seasonal rewards.
