Annabella Sciorra is latest to accuse disgraced Harvey Weinstein of rape

The producer only fled when she started shaking so violently “he must have feared I was having a seizure,” said Italian-American star Annabella Sciorra.

She alleged the attack happened when she was a rising star of hit films such as The Hand That Rocks The Cradle in the early 1990s.

Ms Sciorra, 57, claims Weinstein later burst into an hotel room in France and tried to force himself on her again.

As she relived the alleged incidents yesterday, fellow actress Daryl Hannah, who starred in Blade Runner and Splash, became the seventieth woman to accuse Weinstein of sexual assault or harassment.

Ms Hannah, 56, says she was twice forced to barricade herself in a hotel room as the tycoon pounded on her door and demanded she let him in, adding: “For nights after, I couldn’t sleep”.

Ms Sciorra is the fourth woman among Weinstein’s 70 accusers who claims he raped her and she is expected to give a statement to police in New York this week.

Task forces in Los Angeles and London are also investigating alleged sexual attacks by the 65-year-old former film boss.

Both his latest alleged victims said last night they had previously been too ashamed and too fearful of reprisals to come forward.

Ms Sciorra claims she was attacked following a dinner to celebrate finishing the 1993 film The Night We Never Met for Miramax, Weinstein’s then company.

She claims Weinstein overpowered her easily, locking both her arms over her head with one hand and forced himself on her sexually. He then tried a second assault.

At which point, Ms Sciorra says her entire body began to “shake violently” because she was so scared, adding: “I think, in a way, that’s what made him leave because it looked like I was having a seizure or something.”

To her horror, the movie mogul continued to harass her with lewd phone messages.

Ms Sciorra claims Weinstein later confronted her again after bursting into her room, while she was staying in the Hotel du CapEden-Roc in Antibes, France during the Cannes Film Festival.

She says, she was awoken by a knock on her door, which she opened to see “Harvey in his underwear, holding a bottle of baby oil in one hand and a tape – a movie – in the other.”

Weinstein was forced to leave when hotel staff came to her aid.

Weinstein has previously “unequivocally denied” any allegations of non-consensual sex in relation to similar accusations.
