Thor Ragnarok: THIS is what happened to Lady Sif and Jaime Alexander is ‘BUMMED’ about it

For months fans scrutinised trailers and freeze-framed scenes trying to spot the missing miss.

Even though Ragnarok introduces two powerful new female characters, Valkyrie and Hela, it looks like Sif is long gone.

After a recent rather dismissive comment from Marvel boss Kevin feige, the actress who plays the Asgard warrior has finally spoken out.

Alexander, who is currently starring in the US hit show Blindspot, revealed that she had been very willing to return. So what happened?

Alexander told Yahoo that it was out of her control and it sounds like Marvel could have tried harder to make it happen.

She said: “I was asked, but the timing of when they were going to shoot and when Blindspot was gonna shoot — it was pretty much the same time. So there was a conflict there.

“I was hoping for more of a notice from [the studio] so I could make it work, but it was a short notice thing. They called and said, ‘Hey, by the way, would you come do this?’ I said there is no way I can make that work that fast.”

Alexander added: “It couldn’t happen. They were on a different continent (in Australia)!

“So it was sad. I was bummed about it.”

Fans will be even more disappointed now that they now how keen the actress was to reprise the role. There was widespread frustration when Feige explained how he saw Sif’s current situation.

Feige said: “(Loki) would have to get rid of Heimdall, because Heimdall can see everything. That was an idea – and probably the Warriors Three, to discount them… which is probably an answer to a question I’ve been asked a few times today: Sif was probably banished. She’s off somewhere.”

Fans responded with comments like: ” That sucks. She was one of the few characters that appeared in movies and TV shows.”

Another added: “Terrible answer. They should mention (where Sif is) in the movie instead of him just coming up with guesses.”

Alexander has also cameod as Sif on teh TV show Agents of SHIELD but is still hoping for a future appearance in the Marvel cinematic universe.

She said: “I love Marvel. I’d be happy to do other projects with them at any time. They’re a great company — I love all the guys and girls over there — they always are able to get a really fun cast for almost every project they have, which is often. And, of course, who doesn’t want to be a superhero?”
