Sony PlayStation loses console exclusive to Xbox One, here’s how PS4 and Switch catch up

Having had it as a console exclusive for several months, it’s been confirmed that Sony PlayStation’s PS4 console will soon be level with Microsoft’s Xbox One on another game.

It has now been confirmed that Free-to-Play action MMO, Skyforge, is being released on Xbox One in November.

It’s been available on PC since 2015 and recently launched on PS4 in April 2017.

While Skyforge is free-to-play, fans will still get the chance to grab a founders pack when it launches on Xbox One in November.

Those who pre-order one of the Founder Packs  prior to the start of Early Access on November 10, will receive the exclusive Xbox Pre-order Bonus Pack.

Here’s more on the setting of Skyforge: “In Skyforge, our free-to-play action MMO, you become one of the chosen and receive the gift of immortality, tasked with the protection of your home planet of Aelion that’s under constant threat from invading alien forces.

“Previously, the planet used to be under the protection of our great guardian god, Aeli, who built a protective structure around the planet.

“He kept an ever-watchful eye on the mortal citizens of the planet and whenever the invaders reared their head, would descend where he was most direly needed.”

There has been no comment made on the launch of Skyforge on Nintendo Switch, although fans won’t be too worried about that right now.

Super Mario Odyssey just launched on the popular hybrid platform and appears to be heading for the top of the charts.

Reviews are putting it among some of the best games ever made, while there’s also other titles such as Skyrim and Doom arriving in the near future too.

Even in a short amount of time of going live, it appears that the new Nintendo Switch games exclusive is on course to be one of the highest-rated titles around.

Gamespot, IGN, GamesBeat and more are giving the new Super Mario adventure perfect scores, boosting it to a metascore of 97.

That puts it into the same league as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which cemented itself earlier this year as the game to beat.

There aren’t so many PS4 exclusives in the works for the rest of the year, however, there are some interesting sounding PlayStation VR projects coming.

Horror experience, The Inpatient arrives on PSVR in November and is set in the Blackwood Sanatorium, over 60 years prior to the 2016 BAFTA award-winning Until Dawn.

There’s also Doom VFR releasing in December for VR fans, as well as Bravo Team, which offers both single-player and online 2 player co-op.

The Cover-Based FPS requires a lot of teamwork and is also compatible with the PS VR Aim Controller.

“The super sharp accuracy and intuitive controls will make you feel as though you are actually holding the weapons in the game,” developers Supermassive Games explains.

“As you play, you interact with your environment intuitively.

“To get around cover simply lean left or right. To aim your weapon, just raise the controller and line up the iron sights. Pinned down by enemy fire? Lift the controller above your head and blind fire away.”
