Katie Taylor sets her sights on more titles after beating Anahi Sanchez ahead of Joshua

Taylor beat Argentine Anahi Sanchez on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Carlos Takam in Cardiff.

She was crowned the new WBA lightweight champion after a unanimous points victory.

But she insists it’s just the beginning.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Taylor told Sky Sports. “It wasn’t my best performance, I’m just delighted to be world champion.

“I got wild at times and left myself wide open occasionally, it was a very tough fight. This is the start, I would love to unify these belts, I would just also like to thank my team and all the support.”

The 31-year-old made it seven wins from seven and boxing expert Johnny Nelson has backed her to take the sport to a new level.

“I love her attitude,” Nelson said. “This girl can fight.

“She is not happy with just having one world title and I can see her comfortably getting one more.”
