Fortnite server OUTAGE: Waiting in queue issues following status update

Today started with a new Fortnite update being launched on PS4 and PC.

However, the Fortnite Servers appear to have crashed anyway, leaving many players waiting in queues.

The current status updates from Epic Games can be found below:

“We are currently looking into a few issues affecting login rates and matchmaking. More info soon.”

“Players will be temporarily unable to login to Fortnite while we work through an issue with our database. Thank you for your patience!”

It appears that Epic Games took Fortnite Servers offline to perform emergency maintenance and have now put them back live.

“We are working through the final stages of a database issue. Players are just now able to login and many players are jumping in at once!”

While this may be true, Fortnite players are reporting waiting in queues for 50mins or longer, with estimates still showing long server wait times.

Having seen a wave of new content and a new Halloween event launch this week, it’s easy to see why fans would be so interested in the latest patch.

The new Fortnite update was released today on PS4 and PC, however, this Battle Royale patch doesn’t do nearly as much as 1.24.

In fact, it appears that the new Fortnite 1.25 was deployed to stop a major bug affecting players on PS4 and PC.

“We will be pushing an update @ 2:00am ET, Oct 28 in order to fix a prevalent crash affecting all players,” a message from Epic Games explains.

“This update will be deployed for PC + PS4 at 2:00am ET with Xbox following shortly after.

“There will be no downtime. Players will need to update their clients.”

As mentioned above, no patch was needed for the Xbox One platform, which will likely not see a new version of the game deployed today.

It follows on from the recent Fortnitemares update, which introduced new content to the game, as well as other big additions.

New customisation options were added to the game to the game, which are now available in the in-game shop and stored in Lockers.

Fans can now adjust banners, the harvest tool (pickaxe etc.), character or glider, as well as choose the way they load in.
