After months of waiting the iPhone X is finally available to pre-order.
Apple opened sales of this latest device at 8am this morning with fans rushing to be the first to grab one of these radical new smartphones.
The iPhone X is the biggest update to this popular gadget in years with it featuring a giant OLED edge-to-edge display.
This clever technology means Apple has managed to cram a 5.8-inch display into a phone that’s physically smaller in your pocket.
Other new features include facial recognition, which unlocks the device simply by looking at it.
Called Face ID, Apple says it will revolutionise authentication on iPhone X.
Face ID uses a state-of-the-art TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator, and is powered by A11 Bionic to accurately map and recognise a face.
These advanced depth-sensing technologies work together to securely unlock the iPhone, enable Apple Pay, gain access to secure apps and many more new features.
Face ID only unlocks iPhone X when customers look at it and is designed to prevent spoofing by photos or masks.
Along with this new Face ID feature the clever camera on the front of the iPhone X also allows users to access a fun new feature.
The TrueDepth camera can now bring popular emojis to life in something Apple is calling Animojis.
The iPhone X’s camera captures and analyses over 50 different facial muscle movements, then animates those expressions in a dozen different Animoji, including a panda, unicorn and robot.
The iPhone X also includes the new A11 Bionic processor, updated dual-lens camera and ability to charge the device wirelessly.
Although it’s packed with new tech there is one issue with the iPhone X and that’s its huge price tag.
Prices start from £999 for the 64GB model and rise to £1,149 for the 256GB version.
Luckily there is way to reduce this cost but only for the next 24-hours.
