Thor Ragnarok end credits scene: What did it reveal about Avengers Infinity War?

Marvel fans who have already seen Thor Ragnarok will know there are two extra scenes: one mid-way through the credits and one afterwards.

The second was just for fun; an amusing extra scene so we can enjoy some more Jeff Goldblum emerging from his crashed ship.

However it’s the mid-credits scene that will have big significant going into Avengers Infinity War next year.

WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOR RAGNAROK AHEAD

The scene in question sees Thor – fresh with Odin-style eye patch – and his brother Loki on an Asgardian refugee ship headed for Earth following the destruction of Asgard.

Thor tells Loki how everything will be fine, but then suddenly they come face-to-face with a huge space ship.

So who could it be? Surely this is Thanos on his way to gather the Infinity Stones – the main plot of the upcoming Avengers Infinity War.

Another reason it’s probably the big alien baddie is because this ending could easily tie in with what was seen in the Comic Con trailer for Infinity War.

A leaked description saw an unconscious Thor coming into contact with the front of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s ship, as he floated through debris.

Presumably Thanos attacked the Asgardian ship and cast Thor out into the depths of space?

This may be the reason the Avengers Infinity War trailer has been held back, so fans can catch up with the events of Thor Ragnarok.

However Thor still had his eye in the Comic Con trailer, so it’s assumed this will be – just as the Thor Ragnarok trailer was – to avoid the spoiler.

Thor Ragnarok is out now in UK cinemas and Avengers Infinity War will follow on April 27, 2018.
