The latest two-minute video reel not only shows amazing glimpses at how the movie was made, it reveals some new plot details.
The two biggest moments concern what Rey is doing in Snoke’s throne room and show her with a Praetorian guard as yo have never seen them before.
The other finally spills what Benicio del Toro’s DJ will be doing with Finn and Rose. There are also wonderful scenes with Leia, Chewbacca Poe, Luke and much more.
Here are the 16 biggest moments.
WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS
1. It starts with a floorpan of the Millennium Falcon before showing Rian Johnson checking overrated finished ship at Pinetree Studios.
2. There is a sweet clip of Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaacs sharing a laugh on set. As well as being a lovely moment, this clearly points towards Rey and Poe Dameron sharing a scene, presumably on Crait.
3. A glimpse of C-3PO and R2-D2 back together.
4. A cockpit view of the Millennium falcon with Chewbacca.
5. An intriguing look at Rey twirling the Skywalker lightsaber in its pre-SFX form.
6. First look at Finn and Rose going undercover on the First Order ship with DJ. This is huge new information. Nothing was known of DJ’s actions and whether he would directly interact with the Resistance and help them or just pass on some vital information. Now we know that he will take an active role in the plot.
7. A clear shot of Luke Skywalker in his weathers leathers and travelling clothes. This will be worn in the Second Act of the movie which is expected to see Luke and Rey go on separate quests.
8. A scene with Luke Skywalker in the cave on Ahch-To. He is expected to share this scene with rey. This is where they are rumoured to see a Force ghost, possibly Yoda or Luke’s father Anakin.
9. A tantalising shot of Rey poised to attack, but not with the lightsaber. This shows the young hero drenched in rain wielding her double-ended staff. Is this part of her training with Luke or the rumoured battle with the sea monster on Ahch-To?
10. Footage of Rian Johnson and Chewbacca preparing the fireside scene underneath the Millennium Falcon on the beach on Ahch-To.
11. Fascinating footage of Carrie Fisher on set with Rian Johnson. It shows clearly how invested the actress was in preparing and discussing the scenes. It also gives a refreshing glimpse into how low-tech the sets appear when stripped of lighting and SFX.
12. New footage in Snoke’s throne room which shows just how huge and impressive the set is.
13. A full widescreen look at the cave on Ahch-To where Luke and Rey will share a powerful moment, again showing the impressive scale of the sets.
14. Rey shown in Snoke’s throne room with a Praetorian Guard in the background without his helmet. This is the first time any of Snoke’s elite warrriors have been seen without the full armour. It also seems to confirm that Rey is physically present in the room and it wasn’t just a Force vision, as many fans had believed.
15. Action shots of Poe on Crait, with a Ski Speeder whizzing over his head as he jumps into a trench.
16. A powerful look at Finn lying in the bactasuit while he was recovering from his injuries at the end of Episode 7.
