Avengers Infinity War TRAILER: Is THIS the real reason for the delay?

A second Black Panther trailer recently landed to coincide with the release of Thor Ragnarok in the UK today.

However there is still no sign of the first teaser of Avengers Infinity War.

Marvel fans who have already seen the new Thor movie may have latched on to the reason why.

WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOR RAGNAROK

Near the conclusion of Thor Ragnarok, we see the superhero lose his right eye at the hands of Hela during the destruction of Asgard, before he dons an eye patch in the style of his father Odin.

Interestingly the whole spoiler was covered up in the Thor Ragnarok trailers, with the bruising still evident in the pictures below.

Even in the promo art for Avengers Infinity War from Comic Con above sees Thor’s head cunningly turned to the side to cover the loss of his right eye.

With this in mind, perhaps this is the real reason for the delay of the Avengers Infinity War trailer.

Maybe Marvel didn’t want to have to cover up the spoiler again with altered scenes.

Although one thing that stands against this theory is the leaked Comic Con trailer for Avengers Infinity War, which included a scene of the Guardians of the Galaxy with a two-eyed Thor.

At the very least, waiting for the events of Thor Ragnarok to be out the way from an audience point of view seems like a wise move before releasing the hotly anticipated trailer for next year’s extravaganza.

Thor Ragnarok is out now in UK cinemas and Avengers Infinity War will follow on April 27, 2018.
