Pokemon Go Halloween UPDATE: Gen 3 list news and new event reveal

The Pokemon Go Halloween event is in full swing and isn’t scheduled to end until early next month.

Fans can expect all the bonuses to last until November 2, at which point the game will revert back to normal rules.

One of the biggest bonuses is being able to catch a new list of Gen 3 Pokemon, which are new to everyone.

This includes the likes of Sableye, Shuppet, Bannette, Duskull and Dusclops.

So how easy is it to catch these new types?

Well, according to the latest reports, it depends when you are out.

Apparently, Ghost-Type and Dark-Type Pokemon spawns increase by over 50% at night, although there’s still plenty of opportunity during the day too.

According to dataminers, the current night cycle lasts around 12 hours, starting at 8pm local time and ending around 8am local time.

This would suggest that Pokemon Go does in fact include daytime and nocturnal Pocket Monsters.

It’s not totally clear whether these new Gen 3 updates will stick around after Halloween, Niantic are likely to make further announcement of their plans in the near future.

What we do know is that a big list Gen 3 Pokemon will launch in December, although it will be a gradual rollout.

That probably indicates that Niantic are planning multiple major updates throughout the month, grouping Pokemon together in what could be new events.

New analysis has also been provided regarding the recent Pokemon Go Halloween event’s in-game boxes.

As well as new Pocket Monsters to catch and Candy to collect, Niantic also released a range of new boxes in their game store.

The Halloween Box Sale has now been analysed by the team at the Pokemon Go Hub, revealing the level of discount and items included.

The Special Box, Great Box and Ultra Box all apparently offer around the 50% mark in terms of discounts on existing items, with a detailed breakdown available below:

Pokemon Go Hub Halloween Box analysis:

The Special box: “Targeted at Raiders and farmers, offering six Raid Passes for 480 Coins. Six Raid Passes cost 600 Coins, which means you’re paying less to Raid while getting some Incense and Pinap Berries along the way. A clear winner for Raiders, but unfortunately, you do not get any Super Incubators in it.”

The Great box: “A semi-social player’s dream come true. You get a hefty amount of Incense and Super Incubatrs for your solo play, while still getting a few discounted Raid Passes. We’ve also noticed that the Halloween Great Box is 200 coins cheaper than the Equinox Event Great Box – nice.”

The Ultra Box: “Targeted at hardcore players. Although expensive, you are still paying 50% less than purchasing these items individually, which in our eyes makes it worth it. You are getting a mix of all the items you would eventually buy in the in-game store anyway.”

The Halloween celebration will start on October 20 at 12:00 P.M. PDT and run until November 2 at 1:00 P.M. PDT.
