Steph Curry and Kevin Durant EJECTED: Golden State Warriors star duo in meltdown – video

With just 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Warriors were trailing by eight points when all hope of a late comeback dissipated.

Clearly agitated by earlier decisions from the officials, Curry ended up throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of the referee after expecting a foul call as he drove to the basket.

And there was no hesitation from the referee to eject the two-time MVP from the arena.

And Durant swiftly followed his team-mate for an early shower after yelling at the referees.

The Grizzlies fans continued to taunt Durant as he made his way into the changing rooms but he made sure the crowd remembered he has a championship ring.

Last year’s Finals MVP could be seen pointing to his finger as he was led off the court.

Curry later tried to play down his ejection by claiming he didn’t actually hit the referee.

“I didn’t throw my mouthpiece at the ref,” he told ESPN.

“I got better aim than that. I threw it out of frustration.”

But he could still face a suspension for launching his mouthguard.

Curry hit a fan in a similar incident when he threw the guard in the 2016 NBA Finals but received no suspension.
