BREAKING: Donald Trump to release JFK assassination files

The US President tweeted this afternoon: “Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened.”

More than 3000 never-before-seen documents relating to the 1963 assassination of then-President John F Kennedy are set to be released.

JFK was shot in the head while riding in an open-top car through Dallas, Texas, by lone shooter Lee Harvey Oswald.

His death has long been fodder for conspiracy theorists who suspected a US government cover-up, but the full release of the previously confidential documents is expected to show otherwise.
