The Queen has only been photographed in public wearing trousers once – and THIS is why

A number of the 91-year-old royal’s style tips have been revealed over the years.

Her wedding ring and handbag play a big part in the way she communicates with others.

According to royal historian Hugo Vickers, Hugo Vickers, she twists her wedding ring to signal to her staff she’s ready to move on from a conversation quickly, and wants them to intervene.

And when she wants to end conversation she shifts her bag from one hand to the other.

To ensure a comfortable walk in new shoes and to avoid getting blisters the Queen also has a servant with the same sized feet break in her shoes.

So why has the royal only been photographed in public wearing trousers once?

The Queen was snapped in trousers during the Royal Tour of Canada in 1970.

According to The Telegraph, young royal dressmaker Ian Thomas made her matte-silk treasure suit in a bid to modernise her look.

When it comes to her beauty regime, the Queen, and also the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, 35, are never seen wearing coloured nail varnish

The reason is, according to OK!, is royal etiquette – fake nails or coloured nails are just not appropriate.

Even Meghan Markle appeared with perfectly manicured nails without any colour for her first public appearance with beau Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto earlier this week.

But royals are allowed to wear nude-coloured shades, which are barely noticeable, should they so wish.

The Queen has actually been wearing the same nail polish colour for almost 30 years.

The shade? Her Majesty has been wearing Essie’s ‘Ballet Slippers’ since 1981.

The British nail polish brand, Essie, was launched in 1981, by a woman named Essie Weingarten.

Only a year later the Queen became a fan of one of the brand’s neutral shades, and has stuck to it ever since.
