He waved away questions about the negotiations as he arrived for the meeting in the Belgian capital.
Mr Tajani said: “Brexit is not on the agenda.
“You know our position. We need to achieve agreement on the three most important points.
“We are united on this: citizens’ rights, money and the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.”
Mr Tajani sparked outrage in London earlier this week when he insisted the UK must pay Brussels an additional £20billion before trade talks can get under way – and then dismissed the sum as “peanuts”.
