Star Wars 8: ‘Kylo Ren BETRAYS Snoke’ – There can only be ONE reason why

Not even rigorous Jedi training can clear up all the misdirections and potential tricks in the main Last Jedi trailer.

It increasingly appears that many of the scenes are cleverly edited to completely mislead fans.

There is also a growing belief that Kylo and Rey will somehow both leave their respective masters, Snoke and Luke, by the end of the film.

Did the trailer already sneakily reveal the moment when Kylo makes that decision?

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS

The trailer goes to great lengths to make it seem like Kylo Ren is about to blow his mother Leia’s ship out of the sky. Since Leia was fully locked in with a full plotline for Episode 9 before Carrie Fisher’s untimely death, this is highly unlikely.

However, is this the moment when he starts to doubt his own convictions?

As the trailer reaches its dramatic climax, Kylo is shown holding out his hand and the trailer cuts to a shot of Rey. Many fans are sure these are two different scenes.

The falling embers in the background behind Kylo are not matched by any scenes featuring Rey BUT they do correspond with two other tantalising possibilities.

It could be an earlier scene from the Forceback vision of the burning temple where he is demanding Luke hand him some important artefact like the Skywalker lightsaber. Or what if he is holding out his hand to Luke for help after Kylo’s rumoured burning of the Force Tree on Ahch-To?

Star Wars theoriest Mike Zeroh thinks that the flames are from a crucial scene during the battle of Crait.

He says: “Kylo Ren lands on Crait. He burns down the (Resistance) base from within and saves his own mother, Leia. At that point he has already abandoned his master, Supreme Leader Snoke.”

Kylo’s love for his father was not enough to stop the terrible events of The Force Awakens. All the Star wars novels and background history indicate he was much closer to his mother.

Faced with the moment when he has to kill her, too (perhaps even on Snoke’s orders), will Kylo finally realise that he is not truly committed to the Dark Side?

This also may be the only way fans would ever allow Disney to try and redeem Kylo after the murder of his father.

Will family ultimately triumph over evil? It is, after all, the Star Wars way…
