Star Wars 8 gay news: Boyega reveals Finn and Poe heat ‘He looks at me with LOVE’

Who is he talking about?

Fans will be thrilled to know the actor made these comments (and more) about his co-star Oscar Isaacs, who plays plucky pilot Poe Dameron.

Every since Finn and Poe were thrown together in The Force Awakens, fans have been shipping the handsome fellows, hoping for the Star Wars franchise’s first same-sex couple to be revealed.

Last year director JJ Abrams declared that there would definitely be more gay characters in the Star Wars universe and that was before he stepped in to take over Episode 9.

Boyega and Isaacs have been very open to playing with the notion of a romance between the two characters and latest comments are the most explicit yet.

Boyega told Metro US: “I think that Oscar is always looking at me with love in his eyes, and I guess that the fans saw it. And then they realized that either he needs to chill or come out.”

Finn and Poe will be reunited at the battle of Crait in Episode 8 and even Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy has hinted they have been listening to the fan demands to develop the relationship.

Kenendy said the filmmakers had been “talking about it” in planning meetings.

Of course, the likelhood that anything will actually appear on screen remains slight. However, a new official Star wars book just revealed a touching gay love story between two male characters.

New book Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View, is packed with 40 short stories from 40 different authors.

One tale exposes the story of a passionate affair between a Stormtrooper who appeared in A New Hope and an Imperial officer.

Meanwhile, fans will have to content themselves with creating more art and stories online to feed their hopes that Finn and Poe will one day be together.
