PSN DOWN – Server status latest as PS4 online gaming service not working for HUNDREDS

UPDATE ONE: Down Detector has received reports from thousands of PSN users reporting the PS4 online gaming service is down today.

The independent website first received reports that PSN is down after 9.30pm BST.

Since then the number of reports of PSN down surged from a few hundred to a peak of more than 1,500 at that particular moment.

According to their outage map, the PSN issues are affecting users in the UK, Europe and America.

Of those affected, 61 per cent were having sign in issues, 19 per cent were having issues with PSN’s social features and another 19 per cent were having general online gameplay problems.

ORIGINAL: PSN is down right now for hundreds of players who have reported server problems with the online PS4 gaming service.

The PSN issued began after 9.30pm BST with hundreds of PS4 gamers having trouble connecting online.

Independent website Down Detector said the majority of these issues were sign in problems.

At the peak of the outage so far Down Detector received reports from 650 PSN users reporting the service as down.

The official PSN server status website currently says “all services are up and running.”

But that has not stopped hundreds of PSN users reporting issues with the service.

The Ask PlayStation UK Twitter account has been busy responding to users reporting issues with PSN tonight.

In one tweet the Ask PlayStation UK team said: “We are aware there has been reports of this.”

This evening PS4 gamers have been flocking to social networking site Twitter to report PSN down.

One PSN user tweeted: “@AskPlayStation PSN social features are down. How long until they come back up?”

While another posted: “PSN servers down”.

And one added: “Ugh what a perfectly horrible time for PSN to go down.”

The latest PSN issues come after users last month thousands of gamers were unable to play PS4’s online gaming service for more than NINE hours one day.

During the outage the Ask PlayStation Twitter account said, after investigations, that engineers said the issue was a Virgin Media issue.

And then a day after that outage late in September PSN users who were Virgin Media customers were again hit by online issues.

However, that outage affected a far less number of PS4 owners.
