Nintendo Switch steps closer to launching one of the hottest games as a console exclusive

Nintendo may have pulled off one of its best deals so far for their emerging Switch console, which will also help it stand out further against the PS4 and Xbox One.

For those that don’t know, Nintendo announced a range of new games coming to their hybrid device earlier this year.

And there was one reveal that might have slipped by you.

Arena of Valor is an online multiplayer battle arena title published by Tencent Games, which has proven a huge success in China.

According to the latest news surrounding the popular game, Arena of Valor already has over 160m registered users.

What’s more, it also offers similar gameplay to both DOTA 2 and League of Legends, providing a 5-vs-5 setup that will certainly feel familiar to those who enjoy the genre.

Arena of Valor was confirmed for launch on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, and will also be launching on iOS, and Android.

This will mean that the Switch will be getting a hugely successful MOBA as a console exclusive in the near future.

What’s more, Tencent has announced that North American registration for Arena of Valor is now open, although nothing has been confirmed for Europe, as of yet.

Heading to the official site gives you the chance to register your email to start the process of getting into the new MOBA experience.

It’s unclear when the Nintendo Switch version of Arena of Valor will be available for testing, it was recently revealed that the game was still being tried out on the console.

“I’m excited about that, too! But it’s still testing, that’s all I know,” an Valor admin told fans on the official forums.

Arena of Valor is seen as an easier to pick up MOBA than the likes of League of Legends, with  games lasting less time and the builds a lot easier to understand.

This could make it a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch, which offers gaming on the go with the advantages of a proper console setup.

“Explore and command a roster of over 35 fearless heroes, with roles including Tanks, Assassins, Mages, Support, Warriors, and Marksmen,” the official Switch description teases.

“Build the ultimate team with your friends to crush your opponents in real-time online* battles

“First Blood, Double Kill, Triple Kill and all the features MOBA fans know and love will be included.

“Discover and dominate all the gameplay modes, including 5v5, 3v3, 1v1, and a unique “Hook Wars” mode that will challenge your skills and prove your valour as a true champion.”
