Windows 10 Fall Creators Update download is HERE, and brings an all-new design to your PC

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is .

Microsoft will stagger the launch of the upgraded operating system, with the update slowly rolling-out to PC owners over the coming days.

A spokesperson for the Redmond company told Express.co.uk, “The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will begin rolling out on October 17th in a measured, deliberate way to ensure quality experience for all.

“It will begin with devices that are ready for the Fall Creators Update based on specs to ensure the highest levels of compatibility and rollout to the more than 500 million devices running Windows 10 over time.”

Fall Creators Update brings a number of changes to the desktop operating system, including the tweaked privacy features, improvements to the Photos app, and support for mixed reality headsets.

Microsoft will also use Fall Creators Update to debut its new design language, Fluent Design.

The new design aesthetic has been in the works for months.

Fluent Design softens some of the block colours seen in earlier versions of Windows, bringing a subtle blur to the background of apps and windows.

Microsoft wants Fluent Design to become the successor of Metro design, the previous design language, which brought with it the square Live Tiles in the Start Screen, and large typography.

Like Metro Design before it, Fluent Design will bleed into all of Microsoft’s apps and services on Windows, iOS and Android.

There is certainly a taste of the new look in Fall Creators Update, however, the new language will likely be more ingrained in the next Windows 10 update, currently codenamed RedStone 4.

Microsoft has already started to test some of the initial features planned for this update, which is tipped to land in March.

One of the biggest new features is Cortana Collections, which will remember watch your browsing habits to remember some of your favourite books, TV shows, movies, recipes, and restaurants.

Microsoft says, “Cortana is always learning, so the more you let Cortana help you, the more Cortana does for you.”
