Thor Ragnarok: Marvel reveals why THIS major hero WON’T appear – Fans are NOT happy

The God of Thunder’s simpering girlfriend Jane has already shufffled out of sight with little fanfare.

Now it seems that some of his closest pals and firm fan favourites might also be absent from the third film in the franchise.

Ragnarok will introduce two major female characters but it seems that two other ladies must make way for them.

Joining Jane in the outer off-screen realm of oscurity will be the feisty and formidable Lady Sif, it seems.

Fans had hoped there was a glimpse of the popular warrior in the early trailer as a host of Asgard’s defenders took to the sky on winged horses.

Many were convinced Sif could be seen among them, but other tought it was Tessa Thompson’s new character, Valkyrie.

Now Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has revealed where Sif has disappeared to.

Feige told CinemaBlend: “What has Loki been doing on that throne in guise of Odin? And we always liked the idea that he was doing a good job!

“So that was always one idea. And the idea that he would have to get rid of Heimdall, because Heimdall can see everything. That was an idea – and probably the Warriors Three, to discount them… which is probably an answer to a question I’ve been asked a few times today: Sif was probably banished. She’s off somewhere.”

Fans responded with comments like: ” That sucks. She was one of the few characters that appeared in movies and TV shows.”

Another added: “Terrible answer. They should mention (where Sif is) in the movie instead of him just coming up with guesses.”

More damning than the dismissal of a major character “off somewhere” is the apparent lack of interest. Feige’s comments do not confirm that Sif will not appear in Ragnarok, however they make it sound like she doesn’t actually have any kind of plotline at all.

One of the Warriors Three, Hogun, has already been shown in the latest trailer, so he is clearly not just vaguely “off somewhere.”

Jamie Alexander, who plays Sif, is also still listed for the movie on IMDB, so there may be hope yet.
