PS4 games update: SHOCK PlayStation news as expansion spells the end for top title

PS4 owners will be disappointed to hear that Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds will spell the end for the game on PlayStation.

One of Sony’s biggest exclusives will receive a DLC expansion in November.

Unfortunately, however, The Frozen Wilds won’t be followed by any additional DLC packs.

That’s according to the Guerrilla Games Twitter account, which had the following to say about future DLC: “The Frozen Wilds will be the only expansion for Horizon Zero Dawn.”

Hopefully Guerrilla can start working on a follow up to the action adventure game, which is one of the PlayStation’s best looking titles.

The Frozen Wilds has a November 7 release date and is priced at £15.99. PS Plus subscribers can pre-order the game for £14.39.

The Frozen Wilds contains a new story and a new area to explore.

“Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes,” reads the official description.

“But now this frozen wilderness harbours a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.

“The Frozen Wilds contains additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn, including new storylines, characters and experiences in a beautiful but unforgiving new area.”

It was recently suggested that Horizon Zero Dawn’s success may have inspired Microsoft to follow suit with an Xbox One X rival.

That’s according to a new Microsoft job ad for a lead environment artist for a new triple-A blockbuster.

The job listing was posted on the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft’s Sandor Roberts.

“Looking for Lead Environment Artist for Microsoft AAA Nextgen Title,” the post reads. “Style: similar to Horizon Zero Dawn.”
