Ed Sheeran tour in crisis? Star confirms bicycle accident has left him with arm injury

The hit musician, who has had a stormer of a year thus far, said he is currently waiting on doctors’ orders.

“I’ve had a bit of a bicycle accident,” he wrote on Instagram, “and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my shows.

“Please stay tuned for further news. Ed x.”

Sure enough, the accompanying image shows the star in a hefty-looking bandage on what appears to be his right arm.

The post comes after it was reported that he was knocked off his bike by a car and rushed to a hospital.

His friend Smallzy had posted to Twitter: “Sources in LDN @edsheeran telling me he’s been hit by a car while riding a bike.

“Sending healing vibes.”

Sheeran is due to play in Taipei, Taiwan, this weekend; on Sunday, October 22, before continuing around Asia on his Divide Tour.

His other gigs over the coming weeks include Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, India and United Arab Emirates.

The Oceana leg of the jaunt then kicks off next March, before he returns to Europe in the summer.

The star is playing songs from his current album Divide, which is by quite some distance the best-seller of 2017 thus far.
