Destiny 2 – Bungie have server maintenance scheduled TODAY, but there’s good news for fans

Destiny 2 fans have been told that server maintenance on the hugely popular PS4 and Xbox One online shooter will take place today.

However, developers Bungie have some good news for fans about the Destiny 2 maintenance.

The official Bungie Help Twitter account said the Destiny 2 maintenance taking place today should NOT impact users.

This is because the Destiny 2 maintenance is on the backend. The Destiny 2 server maintenance is set to begin at 9am PDT / 5pm BST.

The Bungie Help Twitter account tweeted: “Destiny 1 & 2 will undergo backend maintenance starting at 09:00 AM PDT.

“There is currently no expected user impact during this maintenance.”

Previously, Destiny 2 server maintenance led to lengthy periods of downtime for Guardians.

Last time, the Destiny 2 servers were taken offline towards the end of September, with it initially down for six hours.

However, Bungie then decided to extend the downtime by two hours – meaning Guardians were left unable to play online for eight hours in total.

Today’s news had a mixed reaction from fans, with some left fearing the use of the word “currently” meant the scheduled maintenance could impact them.

One fan tweeted: “THIS IS AMAZING. No but seriously, cool with maintenance. Loving the hard work bungie, you rock.”

But another said: “‘Currently’ no expected user impact *yet*”.

And one added: “Where is there a need for so much maintenance”.

The latest maintenance comes ahead of Destiny 2 receiving its long awaited PC release.

In a recent Bungie blog post, the developer revealed the times the game will go live in different regions on October 24 or October 25.
