White Widow’s son wanted to stay in UK before being taken to Syria

However, “Jihadi Jones” refused to listen to his request and both were reportedly killed in a US drone strike as she attempted to leave Raqqa in June.

Her 12-year-old son Jojo, believed to be the youngest British victim of a drone attack, was so brainwashed by Islamic State fighters that he became a child soldier, who reportedly executed a prisoner by shooting him in the head.

In an interview held before details of the attack were known, his grandfather Terry Lynch spoke of the life he led with his mother when they lived in Chatham, Kent.

He said: “He [Jojo] had no life. His mum was on drugs all the time. He used to say to me, ‘Grandad can I come and stay with you?’.

“He was a lovely little boy, he was gorgeous. Unfortunately, his mother was always on the computer.”

Five years ago Jones took Jojo to meet Birmingham extremist Junaid Hussein.

They told the family they were going on holiday to Turkey but went to IS-held territory in Syria.

Mr Lynch said: “She had no right to take Jojo. We loved him.”

Sally-Anne Frances Jones, who assumed the names Sakinah Hussain and Umm Hussain Al Britani after converting to Islam, was the only daughter of lorry driver Alan Jones and his wife Jacky.

She was 10 when her father committed suicide.

Her mother remarried haulage boss Mr Lynch, and the couple raised Sally-Anne in south-east London and later in Kent.
