Nintendo Switch games shock as update reveals major Xbox One and PS4 crossover news

For anyone who is a Nintendo Switch games fan, there’s been some pretty big announcements of late.

It wasn’t too long ago that Bethesda revealed their plans to launch DOOM and Wolfenstein 2 on the portable console.

And it won’t be too long before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as well as top Nintendo titles such as Super Mario Odyssey bolster the Switch before the holidays.

But while it’s a great start to see mature titles start to be revealed for the Switch, more are still needed.

And that’s where the latest Nintendo Switch news may be of some interest to fans.

And it doesn’t involve just any old title, but one of the big breakout PS4 and Xbox One games of 2017.

Injustice 2 director, Ed Boon, has spoken more on the subject of bringing games to the Switch.

Speaking to Gamespot, he revealed that there was interest at NetherRealm to bring titles to the new hybrid device.

“It is a pretty different hardware architecture; it’s not like you can go from a PlayStation 4 to a Switch really easily,” Boon told Gamespot.

“So I think we would need to set up something in terms of an external team. I know on the art team, we have enough people to do three console SKUs, and that would be something we’d need to work out.

“From the game player’s perspective, would it be fun to play Injustice on [Switch]? I do think it would.

“You could have tournaments, everyone comes over with their own system and you can have whole structured tournaments and parallel gameplay and all that.”

There’s also the fact that a poll was posted online earlier this year asking fans whether they’d like to see Injustice on Switch or Vita.

The Nintendo Switch won, although no announcement has been made by NetherRealm.

It seems likely that fans would have to wait a little while before something like Injustice 2 was ported over, although other projects could speed that up too.

It was recently revealed that several retailers across Europe listed Injustice 2 for PC.

While another version of the game doesn’t mean something will eventually arrive on Switch, the fact that porting from PC to Switch is easier would add a plus.

With the growing number of Switch sales, it seems likely that we will see more announcements including the Switch in the future.

These will still be limited by the hardware available with the hybrid console, which is behind both the PS4 and Xbox One.

It was recently reported that Nintendo have upped the amount of Switch consoles they want produced monthly, pointing to a strengthening game market.

However, while Boon appeared optimistic about Injustice 2 on Switch, fans would have to be ready for certain drawbacks.

One of these would certainly be fidelity, although it’s not like the Switch version, however it came out, would have much modern fighting game competition.

So far the Switch has seen a lot of retro titles arrive in the genre but nothing on the same level as Injustice 2.
