James Bond 25: ‘Daniel Craig wants Monica Bellucci to return aged 55 as OLDEST Bond girl’

The glamorous Italian actress had a small role in 2015’s Spectre as Lucia Sciarra, the widow of an assassin who Craig’s Bond killed in the film’s opening scene.

The two were briefly lovers in the movie, before 007 headed off on his mission and fell for Léa Seydoux’s Madeleine Swann, who he drove off with in an Aston Martin DB5 at Spectre’s conclusion.

Now as Craig prepares for 2019’s James Bond 25, an insider has revealed the star wants Monica to return.

Speaking with The Mirror, the source said: “He wants Monica Bellucci back, that’s for sure.”

To date Monica is the oldest Bond girl, having played Lucia aged 51 and so she would be 55 when Bond 25 is released in 2019.

Originally the actress thought she was wanted by Bond producers to audition for the new M, after Judi Dench’s character was killed off in Skyfall – being surprised they wanted her as a Bond girl because of her age.

It also seems likely that Léa will return as Madeleine, as other sources have claimed when George Lazenby’s 007 got married – only for his wife to be murdered by Blofeld in the closing scene.

With this in mind a possible plot for the new movie could see Bond settle down and marry Madeleine, retiring from MI6 – only for Christoph Waltz’s Blofeld to escape prison and take revenge by murdering her.

The rest of the film – rumoured to be entitled Shatterhand, an aliasis of Blofeld’s in the novel You Only Live Twice – would presumably see Bond set off on a revenge mission.

Perhaps he could recruit Lucia’s help as the widow of a former Spectre agent to help him hunt down Blofeld once and for all?

James Bond 25 will be released in November 2019.
