The former British number one caused a ‘fight’ last week with fellow Sky Sports pundit Annabel Croft over their thoughts on Nadal’s skills at the net.
While Croft is a big fan, Rusedski is not – although his stance on the Spaniard has softened.
Speaking after Nadal’s Shanghai Masters semi-final win over Marin Cilic, Rusedski said: “With the court conditions being a little bit quicker, he’s had to serve better, move better and as Annabel said, he’s volleying great.”
It prompted laughs in the studio and Croft smiled: “I’m glad you brought that up Greg!”
Host Marcus Buckland then intervened and said: “You two have had a little bit of dispute haven’t you in that department.”

Rusedski then responded by giving Nadal a vote of confidence in his volleying skills – despite him still being far off Federer.
Rusedski added: “I think Nadal has actually improved in that department this year.
“I still think Roger Federer is a better volleyer than Rafa but Rafa, with the heavier racket, just gets that little bit more stick on the ball.
“It makes it that little bit more technically correct because the racket does more work for him.
“Rafa to me will be number one by the end of the season but I think Roger still has something to prove and will meet him in the final.”
