Man Utd news: Marouane Fellaini is trusted by Jose Mourinho, Ander Herrera case odd – Cole

After Paul Pogba picked up a hamstring injury last month in the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel, Fellaini has filled in superbly in his absence.

Two goals in the 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace at Old Trafford before the international break illustrated this and he has been a calming presence in the heart of midfield, however he is unavailable for the game against Liverpool tomorrow (12.30pm) due to injury.

Herrera, meanwhile, has struggled to get a look-in under Jose Mourinho this season despite his fabulous form last term.

And Cole thinks Fellaini has been playing well, because he has the trust of Jose Mourinho.

“He’s had a great start this season,” Cole told The Sun

“You need someone who believes in you and the manager does.

“On the flip side, look at Herrera who was United’s best player last season — he can’t get a game. That’s football.”

United can go top of the table for a few hours at least if they beat Liverpool.

Klopp’s men meanwhile will be looking to jump into the top four with a victory.
